Dear Friends:

As Rubinste St Louis prepares to leave CCH, I’m pleased to announce that Dave Pierre will be stepping into the role of CCH’s In-Country Director.  Dave and Rubinste have worked side by side for many years at CCH.  Dave began his career with us in Jacmel as a translator in 2013 and since 2016 he has served faithfully as the Education Liaison in Haiti.

Dave has proven himself to be a creative, thoughtful, and respected leader at CCH.  He has helped our education program grow and flourish, establishing new relationships with school partners, and strengthening existing ones.  He’s always excited to bring new ideas to the table.  For example, Dave’s imagination and hard work brought to life a first-of-its-kind celebration for “Teachers Day” last month.  CCH hosted 90 teachers from our partner schools to enjoy motivational speakers, food, fun and games. Dave said, “Teachers were so happy and asked for a conference every year like that because that showed how they are important.”

While his expertise is in CCH’s education programming, Dave sees the big picture and he has been instrumental in bringing together CCH’s healthcare, education, and community development ministries.  When COVID first hit Haiti, Dave helped design and lead CCH’s COVID prevention efforts, working with diverse groups of people including: CCH clinic staff, teachers, parents, market sellers and buyers, motorcycle taxi drivers, nurses, and people from all walks of life in communities where Dave drove our loudspeaker “sound truck.”

One fun fact for you – in addition to Dave’s many professional accomplishments, he’s also recently become quite the videographer!  Our US staff and volunteers have been unable to travel to Haiti, but the work continues and so do the photos and videos showing you what’s happening in Haiti.  Dave has become one of our go-to staffers to capture compelling video clips that tell the story of CCH.  You just never know how God will use you in this Coalition!

Some nuts and bolts for you: Dave begins his role as In-Country Director on July 1st, and he will overlap with Rubinste for a couple of weeks to make a smooth transition before Rubinste departs on July 15th.

Thank you,

Clark Seipt, Executive Director of the Community Coalition for Haiti
