Aunt Magalie brought Naya to the CCH Medical Clinic last week complaining of excruciating pelvic pain. The pain was disrupting her life and causing Naya to miss school for several days each month.  Dr. FrancoisCCH’s Lead Physician, determined that Naya was born with a congenital malformation that was causing the pain.  Dr. Francois reached out to Dr. Desir, a local CCH partner physician, for his recommendation for treatment. Dr. Francois knew of a minor outpatient surgical intervention that could help Naya but had never done the procedure. Dr. Desir was able to perform the procedure and also train Dr. Francois on how to do it. By maximizing our efforts through coordination and mobilization of partners, CCH continues to provide life-changing and timely medical care to teens like Naya.

Despite the virus, CCH is finding a way forward.  Naya is expected to recover fully from her procedure with no pain. She can now lead a more “normal” teenage life. When school opens again, she won’t miss out on a value education because of treatable medical issues – all thanks to our CCH medical team, CCH partners in Haiti and YOU. Indeed, it takes our efforts combined to overcome the challenges in Haiti. Will you continue your support of CCH today with a donation? During the COVID-19 pandemic, our CCH Medical Clinic is open to patients like Naya.  By supporting our Clinic, you ensure that patients in need have a place to seek out help – whether for Coronavirus symptoms or chronic pain and life-altering conditions. With very few options for care, your support means everything to our patients.

We do not know what the COVID-19 impact on Haiti will look like moving forward.  What we are doing is preparing for the worst and hoping for the best, all the while providing medical care to anyone who walks through our doors at the CCH Clinic.  Through your donations you become our best hope to overcome the challenges we face in Haiti.  Please consider donating today. The Mission Continues because of YOU!
