The Need

Haiti, ravaged by natural disasters, diseases and generations of systemic poverty, is in desperate need of transformation. Six and a half million Haitians struggle to survive on less than $2 per day, and many go without life’s basic needs. By contrast, the developed world abounds in luxury, enjoying a greater concentration of riches than ever before. Despite material success, many are spiritually empty and hungry for purpose. We, too, are in need of transformation.

The Opportunity

Our vision is a world transformed: One life, one family, one community at a time. Through compassionate service, we seek to transform those serving and those served. We follow Jesus’ example by initiating relationships and meeting people’s deepest needs, one at a time. In this way, we help people to live as God intended—with dignity, fullness and hope.

Strategy for Success

We seek community-driven solutions for meeting the basic needs of the poor. These needs include food, health care, shelter, clean water, and educational and economic opportunities. Acting in partnership with local communities and grassroots organizations, CCH has successfully implemented sustainable, long-term solutions throughout its 20-year history in Haiti.

Outcomes

CCH changes lives by:

  • Caring for the sick and injured through access to quality health care for Haiti’s most vulnerable population.
  • Restoring the disabled by enabling them to walk, work and serve through the provision of rehabilitation services.
  • Training Haitian medical professionals and supplying medications and equipment to local hospitals to save lives and improve the quality of care.
  • Empowering rural communities to address their needs for sustainable agriculture, clean water, and educational and economic opportunities.
  • Building homes for the homeless, thus restoring dignity and independence to families.
